About the Speaker
Dr Clare Dyer, MPH, MIPH, PhD

Dr Clare Dyer is a Research Fellow in the Anal Cancer Research Program at the Kirby Institute, UNSW Sydney, Australia. She holds a PhD in molecular cell biology from University College London, UK, and a dual master’s degree in public health and international public health specialising in epidemiology from UNSW Sydney. Clare has worked in anal cancer for the last two years, publishing two first-author papers on self- versus clinician-collected anal swabs, including a meta-analysis published in the International Journal of Cancer. Her current research examines uptake of anal cancer screening in people living with HIV, and acceptability of self- versus clinician-collected anal swabs in a community setting. Clare is a member of the International Anal Neoplasia Society (IANS), and the International Papillomavirus Society (IPVS), currently serving as a member of the IPVS Education Committee. She is currently leading the anogenital and oral cancer component of a national report on trends in HPV-associated cancers funded by the Australian Government.
