Isobel Mary Poynten

Mary is a medically trained epidemiologist and is the Anal Cancer Research Group leader at the Kirby Institute, University of New South Wales, Australia. She has conducted natural history studies in anal HPV and HSIL in gay, bisexual and other men who have sex with men, anal cancer screening studies in PLHIV and women with lower genital tract cancers and anal HSIL treatment trials. She chaired the Australasian Society of HIV Medicine anal cancer screening guidelines writing committee, and was a member of the IANS guidelines writing group. She is the only Australian member of the IANS Guidelines Implementation Committee.
