John Anthony Fuller, BS

John Anthony Fuller (he/him/his), BS, is a distinguished health equity scholar-activist. He is a Centennial Scholar, George W. Woodruff Fellow, and Ph.D. in Nursing student at Emory University. John also holds appointments as a Creating Responsible Intelligent Black Brothers (CRIBB) Fellow at NAESM, Inc. and Health Equity Scholar at AcademyHealth. He is an Advanced Research Training in Social Determinants of Health Fellow and Health Policy Research Scholar supported by the National Institute of Nursing Research and Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, respectively. John’s transdisciplinary, mixed methods research examines how social drivers of health (e.g., intersectional stigma) influence health behaviors and population health outcomes for Black LGBTQ+ people. In addition to his research, John is the President of the Ph.D. Nursing Student Association and highly involved in undergraduate and graduate teaching, mentorship, and student advocacy. Originally from Akron, OH, John is an alumnus of The Ohio State University, where he earned his B.S. in Human Development and Family Science, magna cum laude, with honors research distinction, a minor in Global Public Health, and a certificate in Health Communication. John’s intention in all his capacities is to create structural and transformational change for people living with marginalized identities. In his free time, John enjoys traveling, coding, listening to music, and spending time with community.
