Julia Pugliese, MPH

Julia Pugliese is the ANCHOR Study's National Project Director with UCSF. She has supported the ANCHOR Study from its initial planning and currently works with Dr. Joel Palefsky at the University of California, San Francisco in pursuing the trial's correlative science agenda, which focuses on the development and execution of studies to investigate the role of various assays in anal cancer screening and the pathobiology of anal cancer progression. She has served in various roles in clinical research management in oncology clinical trials for 20 years, 15 years of which were with the AIDS Malignancy Consortium’s Operations and Data Management Center, including serving as the project director for the ANCHOR Data Management Center. She holds degrees in biology from the University of Virginia and a master's of public health from Johns Hopkins University, and will begin studies for a doctorate in Epidemiology and Human Genetics at the University of Marlyand, Baltimore in August, focusing on anal cancer screening and prevention.
