Naokatsu Ando, MD, PhD, is an infectious diseases physician and clinical researcher at the Japan Institute for Health Security (JIHS) in Tokyo, Japan, where he serves as Head of the HIV Outpatient Clinic at the AIDS Clinical Center. His clinical and research interests include HIV, sexually transmitted infections, anal cancer prevention, HPV-related disease, and high-resolution anoscopy (HRA).
Dr. Ando is an IANS-certified HRA provider with extensive experience in the diagnosis and treatment of anal high-grade squamous intraepithelial lesions. He performs HRA and ablative treatment in routine clinical practice and is actively involved in clinical research on anal HPV infection, anal precancer, HPV vaccination, and strategies to improve anal cancer screening and prevention, particularly among people living with HIV and other high-risk populations.
