I am a medical doctor who graduated in 1998, with surgical training at CEMIC in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Early in my career, I developed a strong interest in HPV-related diseases and sexually transmitted infections (STIs), particularly those affecting the anus and rectum. I completed basic HRA training in San Francisco (2012), both basic and advanced HRA courses in Amsterdam (2017), and the IANS Virtual Advanced HRA Course in 2024. I currently lead the STI and high-resolution anoscopy clinic at the Centro Privado de Cirugía y Coloproctología, where I perform anal cancer screening in key populations. In 2016, I also trained in clinical sexology to enhance my skills in anal health and STI prevention. Between 2011 and 2015, I was appointed by the National Ministry of Health to develop the first national guideline on anal health and sexuality and to support capacity-building nationwide. As a researcher, I focus on anal and rectal STIs, with a special interest in HPV and Chlamydia trachomatis proctitis, contributing to the first reported cases of lymphogranuloma venereum (LGV) in Argentina and the identification of a new serovar, L4. Since 2021, I have been part of the research team at Fundación Huésped, working on anal HPV epidemiology in key populations, including men who have sex with men, transgender women, and female sex workers. I also engage in community education initiatives on anal health.
